Well, this is a long tag, but I don't feel like doing ANY of the housework that is piled up all around me so I'm going to do this instead. :)
Do you like blue cheese? Yes I do. I love cheese, including very aged cheeses. I wouldn't like eating blue cheese by itself, but I love it in salads and on burgers.
Do you own a gun? Not me personally but DH's count as mine too in a way, I guess. So that would be a resounding yes. I do like to shoot but if we got rid of all the guns I would be just fine with that.
What flavor Kool Aid is your favorite? Well, my favorite drink like this is peach flavored. Captain Hero used to have it (a sub place on Main and Country Club that is now a stinkin' taco place). That was my favorite sub place and I LOVED THAT PEACH DRINK AND NOW IT'S GONE. That makes me very sad. I do like blue Kool Aid, but I never buy Kool Aid.
Do you get nervous before doctor appointment? Not usually, but sometimes. If I am going to find out test results or if I think something is wrong with one of the kids.
What do you think of hot dogs? Well... I like good ones. I really like polish sausage (like at Costco), and I like Brats ok too. My kids won't eat hot dogs unless they are Hebrew National or another really good one. Except Teeny Bopper who won't eat them at all. Never tell your kids what hot dogs are made of unless you are willing to live with the consequences! I had to take cheap hot dogs off our grocery list.
Favorite Christmas movie? Hmmm... I like Elf, The Grinch (animated version), The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th St., and other old traditional type ones. There are probably others I could name but I can't think of them right now.
What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Water. Sometimes fresh oj.
Can you do push ups? The wimpy girl kind, and not very many of them.
What's your favorite piece of jewelry? My wedding ring, some simple earrings that are a silver wire with a cubic zirconia on them, and my necklaces made by Laura in Mexico. (esp. my pink one!) I also have a bracelet that has family pictures in it that I LOVE but I have a hard time wearing bracelets.
Do you have a hobby? Let's see, scrapbooking, cardmaking, music playing, decorating, I LOVE to do anything crafty. Mostly.
Do you have A.D.D.? Not that I Whoa!! Was that a squirrel?
What's your weight? Bwahahahaha
Middle name? Elizabeth
Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment. I hope Shauna's having a good birthday. This is a lot of questions. I wonder what Lorie is doing right now. :)
Name 3 drinks you regularly drink? Water, water, water
Current worry? That would be money.
Current hate right now? That I'm worried about money. Actually, when I went home teaching with DH on Sunday, the sister we were visiting quoted, "If your problems can be solved by money, then they aren't problems". I liked that!
Favorite place to be? With my cute little family.
How did you bring in the New Year? At our house with the YM and YW of our ward.
Where would you like to go? Mexico
Name three people who will complete this? Christy, Shauna, and Amy. (that is my wishful thinking, girls!)
Do you own slippers? Yes, but I am not really a slipper wearer.
What color shirt are you wearing right now? Aqua
Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? No. I don't like slipping and sliding all over the place. I like cotton, jersey, and flannel.
Can you whistle? Yes
Favorite color? green, white, brown, pink, blue I think those are my top favorites but I love all colors.
Would you be a pirate? Nope! Yucky.
What songs do you sing in the shower? Lately, songs from Wicked which my brother saw in London last week!!!
Favorite Girl's Name? Yeah... we have 4 girls so answering that would be really smart. If our last baby was a girl he would have been Charisse.
Favorite boy's name? Well, I love our son's name and my husband's name. I'll stick with those.
What's in your pocket right now? A receipt.
Last thing that made you laugh? Well, I just had lunch with Shauna for her bday, and we laughed a LOT. So I don't think I can remember the last thing. One of the things was my accidentally flinging my water cup off the table and spilling it everywhere. Thanks for getting me a lid, Shauna. ;)
Best bed sheets as a child? These floral sheets that I thought were so pretty and elegant.
Worst injury you've ever had? I haven't really had any bad injuries. Something is wrong with my foot but I don't know what it is. And then there is the issue with my neck that caused me grief a couple years ago, but I don't think that was an injury...
Do you love where you live? Well... I don't love how hot it is going to be, and I like my house but don't LOVE it. I'm happy, though.
How many TVs do you have in your house? Uno. And I'm with Lorie, I think I would cancel cable if I could but I would sorely miss HGTV.
Who is your loudest friend? Hmmm. I don't know.
How many dogs do you have? None right now, but I do want a little Malte-poo in the future. Maybe in a year or two.
Does someone have a crush on you? Well, there are currently two male loves of my life.
What is your favorite book? Another stumper. I can't pick one. I just read Glimpses of Marjorie Pay Hinckley and loved it and also The Book of a Thousand Days. Both were good.
What is your favorite candy? dark chocolate
Favorite Sports Team? Don't give one iota about sports.
What song do you want played at your funeral? I would like some good musical numbers, maybe all music would be good. I can't think of any specific songs at the moment, but I'll make a list and put it in my journal for future reference. :)

It starts young...
So I bought some new bedroom curtains at IKEA the other day and just hung them up today. They are a very different color that the old ones. The old ones were a light brown--almost the same color as my walls. The new ones are a very dark chocolate brown. So, DH was in and out of the room several times and never said anything. (I didn't expect him to.) Well Little Miss comes walking in (DH was in the room also) and she immediately said, "Hey! You have new curtains in here!" At that, DH looked at the windows and said, "Oh yeah, they are different aren't they. Weren't the old ones white?"
Yea. It starts early. Girls vs. boys. Neither one are bad, just different. Cracks me up! :)

Thank you, sweet sister of mine!
I wasn't going to post that my birthday is today, but now I have to so I can say a BIG, HUGE, TEAR-DRIPPING "Thank you" to my SIL in Mexico. As you can see from the picture, in looks we are not much alike. She is tall and gorgeous and I'm the other one. haha It is scary to think that if we hadn't married the men we did we would never have met. Life would not be the same without her! She wrote the most beautiful, heartfelt post about me on her blog and I want her to know I love her too! She has always inspired me to reach beyond myself and I could say all those things she said about me right back about her. Except the barefoot one maybe. :) So, if anyone reading this wants to read a bunch of nice things about me, go to this blog. She means the world to me and I thank you for helping to make my birthday super duper!!

Fulfilling Hobbies

Last Monday night for Family Home Evening my daughter Teeny Bopper was giving the lesson. For the lesson each person was instructed to bring a treasured item to the living room. We then went around and each of us got a turn telling about the item we chose, why it is a treasure to us, who gave it to us, etc. Well, guess what TWO of our daughters chose as their "treasures"??? Scrapbooks!! That's right, scrapbooks! I felt so good about that and so glad that I love scrapbooking as a hobby. And I'm even more glad that I'm not the only one who likes to look at them. Sweet G chose my wedding album and Blondie chose a family album that she likes. Anyway, it gave me a boost and I wanted to remember that so I am writing it here. As for the other treasures, just for the record, I brought my camera, DH brought some historic money, Teeny Bopper brought a quilt that her aunt made, and Little Miss brought her slinky. :)

Our weekend dash to Utah

We went up to Utah for General Conference this last weekend. We mainly went to see my brother but of course we saw our other family there too. The time we spent there was so wonderful! The weather, the family, the conference--it was all so fabulous. The actual driving part...not so much. We have never, and I mean NEVER had so much sickness in a car!! One puker on the way there, and then the way home, let's see, Sweet G lost it 2 or 3 times, DH lost is a couple times (at least we made it to a rest stop for him), and Little Miss lost it once (in a BIG way). But we are home at last, and feeling better. The time we had there made it all worth it but I'm not saying I want to repeat the experience anytime soon.
One of the things we did there was walk around the Salt Lake City Cemetery. We took pictures of all the prophets graves. We especially wanted to see Pres. Hinckley's grave. It may sound morbid, but DH and I both like cemeteries. They are such peaceful and interesting places. Thanks, big bro for making it possible to be there this weekend!
Smells good!

Teeny Bopper and a friend were doing pedicures the other day and she went to smell her lotion. (which smells great-Grapefruit Peppermint!) Well, she gave it just a tiny squeeze to help smell it better... I guess there was a glob of lotion over an air bubble and it just popped out right onto the end of her nose! I couldn't stop laughing for a while about this one. I'm glad she thought it was funny too; she was a great sport about it. She even posed for the picture with the yummy lotion all over her nose. She's a cutie!
Hey, if you leave out your pudding...

Someone else is gonna get it. And by "someone" I mean Dr. Destructo. He is great at finding all those little unfinished snacks that are left unattended. I keep telling the girls to put their things up higher where he can't reach, but they haven't learned yet. I guess there are worse things than chocolate pudding to be found!
