Random thoughts

Well, I think my weekend could be summed up with these words, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
I may be able to chalk the whole thing up to hormones. My mood Saturday was, shall we say, dark. Just bummed about how messy and cluttered my house is, and my physical state of body at the moment (not in the best shape to say the least) was just getting me so DOWN. So most of the day Sat I was in a funk. DH and I went to test drive some motorcycles, which was not my idea. I had to be talked into it because I wanted to stay home and mope around the house instead of going out anywhere. But once we went, my mood lightened considerably. I think it was good for me to get out and there is something about going fast on a motorcycle that just makes me laugh. (not dangerously fast or anything) Kind of like on a roller coaster. I always laugh my head off on those things.
Anyway, then Saturday night Teeny Bopper and I went to the Young Women General Broadcast together. It was our first as she recently turned 12. THAT was emotional for me. I cried through the first half hour just thinking about how proud I am of her and what a great person she is. I just couldn't contain my emotions and they ran out of my eyes and down my cheeks. Then after the broadcast we went to dinner with the other YW leaders and girls from our ward. And boy did we have fun! Oh my gosh, those girls can be silly, emphasis on the word "silly". It was hilarious, great company. I laughed so much and it was a huge relief for me. I love laughing! So, the day ended on a wonderful note despite the cloudy beginning.
One of my main reasons for posting about this is to say "thank you" to my DH for putting up with me so kindly and so lovingly. He was so good to me and even organized a house cleaning event for Family Night tonite. He is the best and I want him to know it! I love ya babe!

Tagged

Hotmama tagged me for Social Saturday (started by Lisa over at Club Momma.) The question of the day is "Are you a Procrastinator?"

The answer to this is yes, yes I am. I have good days and bad days with procrastination. I always did my school assignments last minute and studied for tests last minute, but it worked for me. Now my problem is remembering what I have to do. So I don't procrastinate on purpose much anymore, but things end up happening in a rush because I forget about them. It bugs me now! I like to be on top of things, but oh well. I do what I can. :)

OK--I tag my back yard neighbor, Nik, and my good friend in Virginia.

Saturday Social Rules:1. Post your answer to the Saturday Social question(s) in your blog. Be sure to put in a link to who tagged you too! 2. Come back, sign Mr. Linky and why not leave me a comment too ;)3. Tag your friends... better yet, tag a stranger (what better way to meet someone new!) You can tag 1 or 100, it is up to you. The more you tag, the more you will meet. 4. Visit other Saturday Social participants by clicking their names in Mr. Linky!Hopefully when all is said and done you will have met some new bloggers, gained a few new readers and had fun!Happy Socializing!

**Sorry, but I don't know what "Mr. Linky" is. Hotmama, can you help me out with this one?

Hello Dolly

My lovely sis-in-law took me to see "Hello Dolly" last night at the Broadway Palms. It was soooo FABULOUS-O!!!!!!! I have loved all the shows I've seen there and the dinner is great, too. They have a wonderful dessert bar with those mini chocolate eclairs, Georgia Peach cake, lemon bars, and tons more. Mmmmmmmmm Hello Dolly is one of my very favorites, so I was hoping they could do it justice and they did! They even included some of my favorite lines like when Dolly and Horace Vandergelder are at dinner and he gets some chicken wings on his plate and Dolly leans over and says, "Here Horace, let me cut your wings." He says, "I DON'T WANT MY WINGS CUT!" She replies with, "No man does Horace, no man does." And the famous "You go your way and I'll go mine!", while pointing the same direction for both. It was just so good. Thank you, SIL for taking me with you!!

good question

So, what does it mean when you're snuggling and your kid says (sweetly), "Mommy, you smell like a .....vitamin." Um, is that a good thing or not? Interesting...

Twins?

They are cousins, but they look like twins don't ya think? A couple of cuties! And their names are almost exactly the same except for the ending sound. (that wasn't planned, either) We don't see each other very often because we live in different states, but I'm so glad for the times we do get together. Family rocks!!

One day he'll fly the coop...

But today is not that day. Our little man loves to climb into this old birdcage we have in our back yard. Just like his sister Blondie used to do. It's so funny what these kids like to play with! It makes me ask myself WHY do I keep buying toys and junk when they like to play with the weirdest stuff. Like boxes, bubble wrap, toilet paper tubes, tupperware, etc. Maybe my house wouldn't be so cluttered, but then we wouldn't have those cute baby doll clothes, or Barbie's 3 story house, or bunches of other things I can picture that get played with once in a blue moon. One day I'll learn. Until then, I think I'll go dress all the Barbies so they aren't laying around without any clothes on. That's another strange mystery. Why do they always undress the dolls and leave them laying around that way? Isn't the fun part actually dressing them? Strange...

Blessing today

OK, so I haven't been keeping up perfectly with the 52 blessings challenge. But, here's one from today. (I may have used DH before, but this is more specific. :) My DH's attitude about my hobbies is such a blessing to me. He loves the cards I make, and always asks me to make one when he needs one because he thinks they are more personal. And he even likes my scrapbooks. Today he was looking through one and said something like, "These are going to be such a treasure to us in a few years when our kids are grown and out of the house. We can look back through these and remember how cute they were." That made me feel so good! He's a gem.

The Ice Cream Man

What little kid doesn't like a cone from DQ? Our little guy is obviously no exception! Do you remember when you didn't care if your food got all over you, as long as it was good? I think the closest I get now is at Native New Yorker with buffalo wings. Those things are such a mess, but soooo worth it!!
