Shaving Cream fun

I remembered a fun and cheap activity that we hadn't done since Teeny Bopper was about 4, so....10 years ago?!?!?!
It just involves a cheap can of shaving cream from the dollar store and an outdoor space to play in it.  When Teeny Bopper and her friend did this, it was great fun.  They made pictures on the table in the shaving cream, and sure, they got a little messy but no big deal.  So, I decided to try this again with my little ones now.
Um, it wasn't quite the same as last time...   They didn't make any pictures or play calm little games with it.  No.  They covered their bodies in it, as well as the table.  Blondie had a playdate scheduled, otherwise she would have been head to toe covered, as well.

They even tried to get Tail Gunner in on the fun, but he didn't want anything to do with it.

Ah, well.  They had fun, and that was the point, right?  :)

Spooky Supper costumes

Well, I slacked on taking pictures of the food this year, but our annual Spooky Supper was fantastic!!  (as usual)

There was great food, fun games, and wonderful company to be had.  This is the only food picture I took:

Waxy Q Tips.  (marshmallows with peanut butter on sucker sticks.)  I also took Loaded Diaper Dip, but didn't snap a photo of that one.  (it's my old stand by anyway, probably a picture on this blog somewhere already)
Here are the kids in their costumes:
Bat Girl-

Witch-

"Dead Bob"-

Pumpkin-

I got some yellow felt and made the Bat Girl costume out of black clothes we already had.  We got the mask at JoAnn's, 50% off, and I made the cape out of some black fabric I already had.  The witch we already had everything for, and we found the skeleton and pumpkin costumes at Goodwill on half-off day!!  Score!  We probably spent 10 bucks for everyone's costumes.  Oh, make that 15 bucks because I did buy an orange shirt and brown tights to go under the pumpkin costume.  I'm still ok with that.  :)

The boy and his birthday

Here are some pictures from Dr. Destructo's birthday.  We had family over to celebrate with cake and ice cream.  He wanted a race car cake, which idea comes from a cake book we have.  It looked so easy in the book...  Well, it wasn't quite as easy as it looked but I made do and it came out alright.  (was supposed to be standing up and be bright red and dark blue.  it ended up lying down and was pink and blue.  oh well, he loved it anyway! :)

He got some boy dress-up-

a remote control car which lasted most of the night, and no more-

and Woody and Buzz!!  He LOVES these!

He also got some shrinky dinks which were super fun and we want to get again.

Blowing out the candles-

He had a great day, thanks to all the fam and friends that we have.  Happy birthday, Dr. D!  I love you!!

Happiness

What makes me happy today, is that even though my biggest little boy just turned 4, his face is still soft and squishy enough for me to love kissing it all over.  And he is still little enough to like it!  :)

A GREAT day

Today was an especially good day for us, because it was Little Miss' SEVENTH birthday!!!

My baby girl is 7.  I can't believe it!  She decided instead of having a party with a bunch of friends over, she wanted to choose one friend and go to the mall.  So Little Miss, her friend K, my mom and me went to the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall on Friday evening.  She wanted to have dinner at Panda Express in the mall, go play in their awesome play area, then go shopping and get something matching for her and her friend.  (she got this idea from her friend O, who did this with Little Miss for her bday party, before she up and moved to Texas...)  Anyway, they ended up getting matching lip gloss and tote bags from Bath and Body Works.  We then got cupcakes at Sprinkles, which is right across from the mall.  They had a super duper fun time.  Oh-and we can't forget the gumball!  Little Miss HAD to take a quarter and get a gumball from the machine. :)
Today was her actual bday, so we started the day with pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes.  YUM  YUM  YUM!!!

Then for her birthday dinner (which we actually had at lunch instead) she chose hamburgers and ramen salad with brownies and ice cream for dessert.  She got some cute presents, too.  Teeny Bopper and Sweet G got her a CTR necklace/earrings set, Blondie gave her some chapter books, the boys gave her some chocolate scented body stuff, she got some bday outfits from Nana, and gorgeous dress from Naunee, and an Our Generation doll from mom and dad.   (she really, really wanted it.  and now we have enough of those dolls and will get no more.  :)

To make the weekend even MORE awesome, it was General Conference.  We love watching it together.  ALL of us...   :)
