We got the sprinkler out yesterday just for fun. Here are my crazy boys playing in the water.
It's so cute how they try to catch the water and get it to go through their fingers. This was probably our last fun in the sprinklers until next year! Bring on the Fall weather. Please!

The Zoni Awards
Teeny Bopper and Sweet G were both nominated for Zoni awards for their performances in Jekyll & Hyde this past year. That is a huge honor, and we were so pleased for them!!! The Zoni's are the Arizona version of the Tony awards. We didn't realize what a big deal it was until we went to the award ceremony and saw how many different acting companies and plays there were to be nominated from. The night began with getting all gussied up.
I didn't have my camera out to capture it, but there was a red carpet for us to walk in on. So fun! The hosts for the night were interesting. Entertaining, yes. Age appropriate comedy for youth awards? Sometimes.
Here we are in our seats.
After the awards. They didn't actually win, but that's ok. They were so happy to just have received a nomination!
Here is the whole AYT group. Overall, they came away with almost half of all the Zoni awards!! A very talented group, for sure.
After the award ceremony we attended the after-party. No pictures were taken here. We had some good food, and there was dancing for the kids. Pretty good, until one of the songs came on that was HIGHLY offensive. The song was bad enough but there was a video screen up playing music videos, and the video was VERY bad. We left after that.
Except for the last sour note at the party, it was a fun night and I hope we get the honor to attend again! Congratulations to Ernestine and the Flower Seller's Mother. We love you and knew one day all the "drama" would pay off. :)

The Merry Adventures of Prescott
This weekend was DH's and my second ever get away without our kids! Yes, in almost 17 years. It was fun and our kids were very well supervised by Naunee, who spoiled them and made them happy to have a break from their parents. :) (it was all part of her master plan...)
We went to the AZ Centennial Celebration in Prescott. The weather was GORGEOUS, as was the town itself. DH was invited to do his historical flag presentation. This means all our expenses were paid, giving us a free vacation!! Woot, woot
Here is the evidence of our adventures in Prescott:
This is us listening to Marshall Trimble (I probably messed that spelling up big time!). He is the State Historian.
We LOVED loved loved the Ballet Folklorico Arizona. Both of us got super homesick for Mexico.
Oh, the dresses!!!
The dresses! The dresses!! I WANT one.
The machete dance. The boys blindfold themselves and "fight"/dance with real machetes. Impressive!
So cute!! They said these dresses contain 200 yards of fabric and ribbon and are very heavy. Still want one!
The Mexican Hat Dance. Their skirts were completely sparkly sequins!
Biplanes flew over a few times. So cool!
Our own little corner of the world:
Someone stole one of our flags!! Can you believe that??
Here is DH doin' his stuff on stage. I love hearing this and learn something almost every time, even though I've heard it so many times. And he is so cute! :)
The cicadas were loud! But they are interesting to look at:
And the food was fun, but SUPER duper expensive!! At least we had the cicadas... haha
A HUGE thank you to Naunee for taking charge of the fam so I could go with DH on this trip. It was fun, and we will be doing this again in Tucson and Phoenix and will take the kids this time. There is tons of fun stuff for everyone to do, and the weather will be nice. Woohoo!

Pure Energy
How my boy plays with his toys. He is a blur most of the time, running and jumping everywhere:
With LOTS of energy!! Can you see the joy on his face? (ignore the laundry in the backround. It was put away soon after this. Probably. :)

Homemade Barbie House
The kids went to town the other day making a cozy mansion for Barbie and her friends. They used books, blocks, game boards, plastic drawers, and some actual Barbie stuff.
There are many rooms, so visitors are always welcome. Here are close ups of a couple:
I LOVED Barbies when I was a kid. Anyone else a Barbie fan?

Sunday, I love you
I'm calling this a pretty darn good Sunday. DH and I feel like the family did all very worthwhile Sabbath activities today. Church, then reading church books, naps, girls working on personal progress, kids mostly not fighting (sweet!), doing necessary (minimal) chores together, no heavy cooking but enjoying a good meal together. We had family council and discussed a few things on our minds, and then Blondie suggested we draw names to do family "secret service" this week. The kids LOVED that! All in all, a dream of a day! AND... no school or work tomorrow!!! Happy day!
