It's official

It is apparently, painfully, exceedingly obvious today that I am the mother of a two-year-old boy. Imagine my surprise when I awoke to find my lovely white baby grand piano covered in green crayon. Yes, I would be hyperventilating just writing this, except for the existence of Magic Erasers. (anyone else feel like they should own stock in those things?) Thank goodness the keys were covered, because it would have been a much bigger pain to have to clean those off. Anyway, it came off just fine and my baby (meaning the piano) is no worse for the wear. Oh, and did I mention he also got the white bookcases, too? Yes, I'm calm now, and I didn't even yell or swear or anything.
Things I wonder about--what are those Magic Erasers made of, anyway? How do kids ALWAYS find crayons even when you think they are all put away? How can such a little bundle of cuteness make such big messes??
I feel a park outing coming on later to release some excess energy in the boy...

Oh, FYI-the picture above is Elvis' piano, not mine. :)

Well you know we have issues with colorful writing instruments (see my most recent post) but one thing I've found is that on some surfaces a dry washcloth will get crayon off pretty darn good.

I believe the magic erasers are made of fiberglass which is why they can be dangerous to little toddlers even though they look benign.

I'm so glad it came off. I've had many a heart attack from discovering a new surface has been defaced. KIDS!!!

Oh my gosh I owuld of flipped. I love the magic erasers too. Crayons comes off so easy in my preschool room from just about any surface when I use them. Good luck with your little guy!

ja ja!! sorry, can't help but laugh! Our lil' guy is just too cute, we can't get him in trouble! BE CAREFUL with those magic erasers...I've read something about them being extremely alkaline, it has burned lil' ones skin pretty bad... not sure if it's true, but not worth risking it. If you google magic eraser I think some links of those stories pop up.

actually... and I only know this from unpleasant experience... the keys would have come clean with a dry paper towel... my kids were in their rooms for an hour... he got off easy... LOL

Are you still giving pedicures? If so are you selling gift certificates? If so I want to buy a couple of them.

It's not the work of cleaning, it's the HEART ATTACK when you see the graffiti on a precious surface! That boy is SOOOO fortunate to have a patient mother!! :)
