This will be a busy week, I think. We are hosting a family from Mexico that are coming so their daughter can get cochlear implants. DH's Rotary Club has worked everything out. The medical stuff is all donated, we are providing housing since DH speaks Spanish, and people have brought tons of food and are providing dinner every night this week! Someone even donated coloring books, crayons, and such for this girl. It has been absolutely wonderful to be a part of. They are supposed to arrive sometime this afternoon, so I will try to post throughout the week but I'm not sure how involved this will be for us.
So that's our plans for the week. I should take some pictures of my house to post since we have been working hard over the weekend to clean it in honor of our guests. I think I will! I love having a clean house, but hate stressing over it. When the kids got home from school today, they were amazed at the clean house! I don't think that's necessarily a good sign... :)
Oh--here's a quick craft that is almost too easy and cheesy to be considered a "craft". But I'll show you anyway. I got so sick of this pencil/pen tray being out all the time.
You could never find a pen that worked, it collected other stuff, and when it got knocked over it was a disaster. So I took a clay pot, painted it orange, filled it with beans and stuck Halloween themed pencils and a couple of pens in it. (pens that work!) Now the kids can grab a pencil for homework, and it's a cute decoration instead of nasty eyesore. I also placed the pencil sharpener behind it so it's an all-in-one-pencil-station.

That's a GRReat idea! How fun would it be to get new pencils for each season and switch them out!?! Love it!
